Prague Lately

Have been going to Prague Lake lately.  It has become the new hotspot.   Ever since Okemah has become overrun with tournaments the pressure on Okemah is horrible.  Went to Prague Friday (7/26) and again on Sunday (7/29).  Greg caught a couple on Friday and I didn't catch anything then on Sunday it was the opposite, I caught 2 and Greg came up empty.  One small one and one that was just shy of 4.5 lbs.

Prague City Lake 5/11/13

Weather was nice, there was a slight north wind and it was cloudy, even got rained on for a little bit.  The water temp was 70 on the SW exposed bank.  Greg caught one just shy of 14", I caught 4, one small and 3 in the range of 3-3.5 lbs.  All but Greg's were caught on dark watermelon lizard in the grass.  Very light bite dragging lizard on the bottom in the grass from about 1ft to 3ft deep.

Hefner 4/6/12

Been a while since posting. Went to Hefner in the morning with Kim. Fished the south side of the lake mainly. First stop was the marina by the restaurants, no good there. Moved to the south side and fished spinnerbait and lizard in the dead grass. Ended up with one fish.

Thunderbird 6/4/2010

Decided to hit Thunderbird after work, went with Phil. We checked the humps and there were no fish on them so we trolled around our usual area and I ended up catching 1 small saugeye, 2 small sandies, and 1 small crappie.

Lot of new timber in the lake due to the tornado that tore through there earlier this spring.

Thunderbird 2/27/2010

Was a nice day on the water, the wind was low and it was in the mid to upper 50's. Water temp was around 41.8 degrees. I got there before Greg and looked at the humps we fish for sandbass, there was no activity on them. We bass fished for a little while with no luck and even looked at the brush for crappie with no luck there either.

We just couldn't seem to find the fish, I have no idea where they were, we didn't even see any shad anywhere. It was a tough day without a single bite but it was nice to get out on the water.

Hefner

Hit Hefner today, turned out to be a good day, we got on the water about 4pm and fished until dark. Trolled a bit for walleye but quickly switched to bass fishing. I ended up with 2 small bass, the biggest one maybe 2 pounds. Anthony also ended up with 2 bass with his largest about 2 pounds as well. Also caught some super small sandies that were hitting on top as well as a couple bluegill and one channel cat about 2 lbs.

Okemah yesterday

Well, got on Okemah about 4pm and fished until dark. It was a tough day, started out with nothing and then got a drum about 3lbs. We fished until dark with nothing but a few bluegills on topwater then right at dark I was able to pick up 2 small bass and another one about 2lbs. Greg also caught one about 2lbs right before dark. Was a tough day, my bass came on topwater and Greg's came on watermelon lizard.

Anthony's Bday

Happy B-day Anthony. Hefner paid off for Anthony and gave him a nice 3 lb bass along with several smaller ones and several sandies all on top. I ended up with one bass about 2 lb and a bluegill.

Antone now has the Hefner record

For our little group Anthony has now taken the Hefner record bass. His fished weight just barely under 5lbs. He deserved it since he has not been able to go much of the summer. I caught one that was about 2lbs off a boat slip. Fish came on blue/black spinnerbait with gold willowleaf and small silver colorado blade.

More Hefner action

Got on the lake about 11am and stayed until after 3pm today. Started looking for walleye and caught a few small channel cats, was a little windy and rough in that part of the lake so went up to the dam to try for bass. Ended up with 1 bass the weight 3.75lbs. Also caught a drum about the same size.

Hefner

Did an late afternoon/night trip yesterday on Hefner again. Ended up with 2 keeper walleye, 6 keeper sandies, and 1 nice keeper channel cat. Had several smaller fish as well.

Hefner again

Went back to Hefner during the day today and ended up with 2 keeper Walleye, one 19" and one 20". Caught several smaller ones along with some small sandies and channel cats. Water temp was 84.4 and there was little to no wind, lake looked like glass several times during the day. Fished from about noon to 3pm.

Hefner night trip

Did a night trip on Hefner to see if we could turn up some Walleye. Ended up with one keeper 23" that Phil caught a couple small ones that were not legal, several bluegill, and 1 nice sized slime fish (catfish). Caught several small sandies as well. Trolling crankbaits off Will Rogers point.

Hefner at daylight

Went to Hefner at daylight today with a bucket of crawdads we got yesterday. I caught 2 bass, one about 3-3.5 lbs, 1 channel cat, 2 bluegill, 2 drum. Phil caught a drum that weighed about 5 lbs.

Hefner today

Got out on Hefner today, fished from about 6:30 to dark. I didn't catch anything but Anthony picked up a small bass about 2lb and a nice sandbass. Caught bass on white spinnerbait, water temp was 89.

Thunderbird yesterday

It was a scorcher. I think the heat index hit 105, the water temp was in the 90's all day. We got on the water around 11am and stayed until dark. Caught just about everything the lake has to offer. Ended up cleaning 2 nice saugeye, 2 cats, and about 1/2 dozen sandbass. Also caught 2 small crappie, 1 small bass, and several small sandbass. Greg had the big fish with his 22" saugeye.

Okemah on Father's Day

Was little windy, the water temps were 89 in the shallow calm parts of the lake and 86 on the wind blown side of the lake. Picked up 4 small fish 13" to 14". Phil caught one small one about 10" or so. That was it. Caught all the fish but one after the sun went below the horizon. It was a tough day, just couldn't seem to buy a bite until almost dark. Couldn't find a big one either.

Okemah Friday

Had a decent day on Okemah, was a little windy but turned out to be a productive day. Landed 2 nice fish and one small one. Greg wasn't so lucky. Had a couple decent fish get loose as well. One weighed in at 3.5 lbs and the other at 4.0

Okemah Yesterday

Went to Okemah again yesterday, caught several little ones. Only had one of any size, was about 3lbs. Caught fish on Black/Blue jig and watermelon lizards.

Okemah yesterday

Was a tough one on Okemah, only tunred up 3 small bass. Nothing over 2 lbs. Just couldn't get them to bite anything.
