Lake Hefner fishing

Went to lake Hefner yesterday, it was mostly cloudy a good part of the day and the temp was in the low 90's. The water surface temp was in the mid 80's.

We got on the lake about 3pm and fishing until just before dark. We started trying out the walleye action to see if we could catch us a few big enough to eat but we didn't turn up anything.

We then started Bass fishing on the S side of the lake on the shores around the golf course and didn't turn up anything. We decided to try out some smallmouth and went over to the marinas around the restaurants on the E side of the lake. Anthony, my fishing partner, was able to hang a nice fish but it jumped and threw his lure. He was able to land 1 small largemouth and 1 small smallmouth along with a small bluegill. The only think I was able to hook into was a small bluegill.

I've been wanting to complete what I call the "Grand Slam" of Oklahoma game fish where I catch every game fish in the state. So far there are only 2 fish that I have yet to catch to complete my goal, the smallmouth bass and trout. I'm not counting trout since they are a baitfish in my book, haha.
