Thunderbird

Went to Thunderbird today. Was a nice change from the long drive to Okemah. When we got to the lake it had started raining on us so we went ahead and unloaded the boat and headed out. We trolled around our normal path and by the time we got to the other side of the point the rain had stopped. Greg picked up a small sandbass and I picked up a small crappie while we were trolling. We decided to come back to the bank and do some bass fishing. No sooner than we go back to the bank and the sandbass started busting the top in front of the boat. I was able to get one cast into them before they stopped and picked up one small one. We then went to the southwest end of the lake and started bass fishing again. I picked up a small saugeye on a crankbait and then I switched to a watermelon lizard to fish the upcoming sticks. My lizard netted me one nice 22" saugeye. We were able to pick up several small bass throughout the day and later in the day the bass started busting on top in the sticks, unfortunately all the ones we saw were small. Overall it turned out to be a nice day and I got a meal out of it.

Finally a good day

Nothing big today but it was a nice day regardless. We took another trip to Thunderbird and were able to catch several small sandbass, one keeper saugeye, and a couple small bass. Also pulled a few small crappie out of a couple brush piles.

So far I've been very impressed with Thunderbird, it has been a producer of both quantity and quality.
